Jagoe Homes is proud to sponsor the 5th Annual East Bridge Art & Music Festival.  This art festival has truly developed into something spectacular, growing from 30 artists and 3,000 people in 2011, to 75 artists and 8,000 people in 2013.  This year, they expect to bring in over 10,000 people to Smother’s Park in downtown Owensboro for the festival on September 5th!

EB201240The East Bridge Art & Music Festival began when sisters Katherine Taylor and Christy Taylor Chaney opened their own “art haven” in Owensboro, which is more formally known as Studio Slant.  Their love for handmade accessories inspired them to mesh an art gallery with a sort of handmade boutique, full of fun gifts and made by artists with love.  Since they also enjoy attending art festivals, they decided to bring one to Owensboro, where the East Bridge Art & Music Festival was born!  They named it “east bridge” because the festival was east of the bridge the first four years, and now, in the fifth year, the bridge is east of the festival.

Jagoe Homes is proud to sponsor the 4th Annual Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 18th, 2015!  This event will be held at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center at 201 E Boonville New Harmony Road in Evansville.  Last year, this event, which is hosted by Inspiring Autism Spectrum Families (ISAF), reached nearly 700 walkers!  This year, they have added a 5k timed run that will be sure to generate even more participants.

ISAF logoThe Walk for Autism supports ISAF programs to help local families affected by autism.  An autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects 1 in every 68 children, so many families are either directly affected, or know someone who is.  Some of their programs include a monthly Parent Support Group and a quarterly Family Fun Night which is a free recreation program for children affected by ASD and their families.  ISAF also recently launched a Voucher Program which helps families pay for costly treatments.  These programs are only possible through the support of the local community!

To learn more about Inspiring Autism Spectrum Families and to register for their 4th Annual Walk for Autism, please visit their website.  This event is for all ages.  Participation is free for kids ages 4 and under as well as persons on the autistic spectrum.  The 5k timed walk for all ages is $20, and the one mile walk is only $10 for kids ages 5-18 and $20 for adults ages 19 and up.
